The "Stags" powerfully display their challenge to protect their territory. With striking of their bodies imminent a psychological tension is created.
They are a highly stylized embodiment of all stags. Their interaction forms a visual arch that the eye follows to unite the two. There is a visual dynamic of movement that is amplified by a highly active surface, an abstract painting with texture in its own right.
Eleven years in the making, they are one of a kind and cast in silicon bronze. They are 11 feet tall and each weighs around 1,700 pounds. The large scale overpowers the viewer and the final installation should empazise their presence, perhaps on tall columns.
